Regional Vitalization with
『The rise of the Samurai/Bushi』
     in Tochigi and northern Kanto

Fujiwara Hidesato was born in Tochigi, who is said to be the beginning of the samurai.

The achievement he made has become a samurai honor/ brand, and many legends remain with his clans. However, the legend, which cannot be told as a historical fact, is difficult to recognize historically, and it is no longer told in the school recently... In the era when Fujiwara Hidesato was worshiped and deified is certain. There are many Hidesato legends in Tochigi prefecture.

"Tochigi's Hero Fujiwara Hidesato Densetsu" is a project to reconstruct the "Hidesato Brand" that surely existed in this prefecture before. Tochigi is located in the metropolitan area but has low awareness and attracts tourists less than other prefectures. We are united to make "Fujiwara Hidesato" as a hero of Tochigi prefecture.

SDGs change the world イラスト

Originally, "Fujiwara Hidesato, the No.1 historical icon in Tochigi Prefecture" is supposed to be used as the character for the entire Tochigi Prefecture. The descendants of Hidesato, who was the current castle owner of each city, are supposed to be used as the characters for each city. We think that this will lead to the development of Civic Pride, and each citizen of Tochigi prefecture will be able to be in charge of PR for Tochigi Prefecture.

Regional revitalization is from knowing the history of the region... The southern part of Tochigi has many legends and places related to "Hidesato" that has been handed down from ancient time. In Utsunomiya there is the "Legend of Dodomeki" still remains. A sightseeing route will be formed by crossing the northern region of Nasu no Yoichi, which is not known to be a clan of Hidesato, to the places in Tochigi Prefecture where Fujiwara Hidesato was born, who was one of the beginnings of the samurai.

And it is no exaggeration to say that Tochigi is the country of the beginning and the end of Samurai in terms of Nikko which is the key to attracting tourists to Tochigi as the place explains the prosperity of Bushi. We are working every day, believing that the establishment of a "Busho route" that goes around the entire area of Tochigi prefecture, including the southern part, the central part, the northern part, and Nikko, will lead to the solution of problems in Tochigi, which the number of tourist accommodations continues to decrease.

In addition, there are many "Bando Bushi/Samurai" such as Hidesato in the northern Kanto region, which is the border with the eastern country, and many others who were active in the later Kamakura Shogunate. Our goal is to connect our activities in Tochigi to content tourism in Kita-Kantou and Kanto areas.
